This was my first assignment for my Studio 1 class. I did it above my fireplace here in my room. It is still there right now, i am really enjoying looking at all of the things I have collected over the years displayed in here. So there it will stay until the masking tape falls.

Sunday I was thumbing through this issue of HOW magazine  from 1998 that my aunt had given me forever ago. There were these amazing collages that David Carson did for the movie "Addicted to Love."  I can't seem to find an image of it anywhere on the web but it is all of these old pages from books, clippings from magazines, and handwritten notes combined on this weathered piece of wood. His work was like a breath of fresh air for me. Lately i've been feeling so locked down to a computer and seeing his work has really reminded me that to be a graphic designer you don't have to stare at a computer screen all day. I have always found inspiration everywhere but to execute my ideas i've always had to sit down in illustrator or photoshop or indesign... which isn't something i completely hate... but a change is nice. A breath of fresh air is nice.

(oh also, if you look at Carson's site be careful not to skip over the CNN quote about Sarah Palin he has before you click to enter)
